Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

I'm a first timer to FlowRyde. What do I need to know?

In order to make your experience at FlowRyde a good one, we have outlined the following recommendations.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of class to complete the check in process. Park and then walk around the building to back of the studio. Due to COVID restrictions, we hold classes outdoors under canopies behind the studio. We do, however, occasionally host classes indoors with our large industrial back door rolled open to let in fresh air.
  • Please check your temperature and wash your hands thoroughly before coming to the studio. If you aren't feeling well, please stay home. (Review the attached Health Consent for more details on symptoms that require your attention).
  • We will take your temperature (contactless)  prior to entering the bike area.
  • Upon entering the bike area, keep your mask on, use the hand sanitizer provided and go directly to an available bike to set up.
  • Masks may be removed once the class begins. If you need to step out of the room to make a call or use the restroom, you must wear a mask and re-sanitize your hands and shoes upon re-entry.
  • Please only bring essential personal items with you to class: cellphone, keys, water, a towel, and spin shoes (SPD compatible). If you do not have SPD spin shoes, regular shoes will work on our bikes.
  • Bikes are first come, first served.
  • YOU MUST ARRIVE TO THE STUDIO NO LESS THAN 5 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASS TO BE ALLOWED ENTRY. NO LATE RIDERS WILL BE ALLOWED ONCE CLASS HAS STARTED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Every rider is required to download, complete and sign the attached Health Consent Release of Liability Form and bring it to the very first class to be allowed entry.

What shoes do I need?

Our FreeMotion bikes are compatible with SPD cleats or clips. If you do not own a pair of SPD equipped spin or cycle shoes, don't worry! Our bikes are also set up with pedal baskets for traditional training or tennis shoes. We suggest you wear a comfortable sneaker you would wear in any fitness or workout environment.

What are your COVID measures?

At FlowRyde, we adhere to very strict disinfecting and cleaning procedures to ensure an environment that is safe and sanitary for you and others during your visit. This includes:

  • Frequent cleaning, wiping and disinfecting of equipment before and after use by clients.
  • Disinfecting and sanitizing of all surfaces and equipment at the close of business day.
  • Limiting the number of clients inside the studio and on the outdoor training space to allow for proper 6 feet distancing.
  • Appropriate 6 feet spacing between clients and between trainer and clients during workouts.
  • Having hand sanitizer readily available for use by clients and trainers during appointments and sessions.
  • Reducing the amount of cross-traffic between clients leaving the studio with those entering the studio for classes.

To ensure your health and safety, as well as those of our instructors, staff, and other riders, we respectfully require riders to agree to:

  • Take your temperature before leaving your home to attend your workout or group fitness appointment.
  • Wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds before leaving your home to attend your workout or group fitness appointment.
  • Enter and leave your appointment or session with a mask, or appropriate face covering of your nose and mouth. (Masks are not required during your workout).
  • Immediately upon arrival to your appointment, sanitize your hands with the hand sanitizer made available at the studio.
  • Maintain the 6 feet distance between yourself and other clients during the appointment or session.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow and away from others during the appointment or session.
  • Immediately upon completion of your appointment, reapply hand sanitizer to your hands as you leave the studio.
  • Additionally, we request that you:

  • Stay home if at any time you feel sick, are under the weather, feel fatigued, have a headache or body aches, are experiencing coughing, sneezing or difficulty breathing, have nausea or diarrhea, have a loss of hearing, smell or appetite, or are running a fever of any kind, including low grade.
  • Avoid coming to your workout appointment if you have been in attendance at social gatherings and have not practice social distancing and/or not worn a mask.
  • Stay home if you have traveled outside of the Southern California region within the last 7 days.
  • Stay home if anyone in your household, or anyone you have been in contact with, has been ill or shown any of the above symptoms within the last 5 days.

I've never done a spin class. I'm nervous!

First we want to congratulate you on taking a leap of faith to try something new! Secondly, we want you to know there's nothing to be nervous or anxious about. Spin can be very intimidating, but we are a welcoming community that supports newbies. It only takes a little bravery and practice, and you'll be a FlowRyder in no time!

We will encourage you to do as much or as little as you feel comfortable. In fact, if you just want to stay seated the whole entire ride and just vibe out to the music, that's great! Instructors always explain and demonstrate choreography, as well as give you coaching cues during the ride.

Much of our choreography can be performed in the saddle. and modified to your comfort level. Additionally, we will suggest you make adjustments that are appropriate for your fitness level.

Our goal is to make every rider feel successful. We'll coach you, motivate you, inspire you, and cheer you on the entire time you're here.

FlowRyde is a judge-free studio that invites EVERYONE AND ALL! Our hope is that you feel so encouraged and energized while you're here that you choose to return. The more you come back to join us and to practice, the more you'll be successful and feel like an official member of our family.
